Life is hard — especially if you care deeply about doing what’s right and live according to your values.
We can’t wish away the hard parts, and we don’t need to pretend that meaning makes them lighter.

You live by your values; you show up with your whole heart.
You hold high standards—for yourself, your relationships, your work.

You believe that doing meaningful work ‘should be’ satisfying. That showing up with integrity ‘should feel’ fulfilling. But the satisfaction is fleeting, and the momentary fulfillment doesn’t stop you from feeling depleted.

Here’s the truth : Integrity is essential. Alignment matters. But they are NOT ENOUGH.

Because… you need fuel to do the work you do. And no one ever told you that fuel is joy.

This isn’t about chasing happiness. It isn’t about pretending you’re fine, or plastering over exhaustion with toxic positivity.
It’s not bypassing difficult emotions, chanting affirmations, or forcing ‘good vibes’ when you’re carrying a heavy burden.

It is about tending to your own joy with a fierce aliveness so that it can feed you and fuel you, and light you up – inside out

DAY #2 : NOTICING WHAT’S WITHIN

Discover your own inner signature of joy, and tap into the aliveness that lives under your exhaustion.
This is where joy shifts from ‘outside-in’ to ‘inside-out,’ from nourishment to ignition.

DAY #3 : LOCKING IN THE GOOD

Teach your nervous system to hold a good moment long enough for it to change you. Instead of scanning for what can go wrong, you’ll learn to marinate in joy so it becomes a resource you draw on, not a moment you chase.

DAY #4 : RE-PARENT YOURSELF THROUGH JOY

Contrary to popular belief, joy is not fragile, not weak. It is not something that can be snatched away from us. Because joy is not achievement, or fortune or possession or even happiness.

Joy is a child asleep on your lap, a collision with a butterfly, the smell of bread baking, the sizzle of spices in your grandmother’s kitchen, the chirping of birds, a baby’s laughter, the rainbow of a petroleum puddle on the floor of your garage.

When joy lives in so many small, ordinary things, it grows larger—feral, clawed, and wild. Strong enough to tear through what’s trite, what’s hollow, what’s vile—and make room for what’s real, good, and true.

HI I’M NIMISHA…

…and I had no idea what joy was before I became a mother.

But the combination of motherhood and mindfulness wove a magical spell that made joy – spontaneous, ordinary, incandescent joy – a part of my daily life…

Now, I am no Pollyanna (though I LOVED the book!). I KNOW that the only way to get through something difficult is to face it and move through it – so you won’t find any emotional bypassing or positive psychology in my work.

I’m also a surgeon, a mindfulness teacher, an artist and writer – and joy fuels and is fueled by each of these areas of my life. But, as I said, it wasn’t always so…
