You, too, are a part of nature

Create a layered mixed-media artwork that mirrors nature’s wild beauty – and brings you back to your body (and your truest self) through touch, presence, and responsive creativity.

In this self-paced, 2-hour workshop, you’ll use simple art supplies and easily accessible materials — tissue paper, cardboard packaging, old lace or fabric — to access your innate creativity and intuitive flow. Inspired by nature’s organic patterns, you’ll create a tangible talisman to help you ground yourself in the midst of the full, beautiful life you lead.

For the woman who’s done trying to control every tiny detail—and doubting her own creativity.

So you can…
Feel joy in creating, instead of stressing over every step.
Make something alive and uniquely yours, instead of chasing perfection.
Be fully present with your hands and your whole self, instead of rushing to the end.
Create something meant to be touched and felt, not just admired.

this is for you if…

You’ve been moving at full speed for so long that slowing down feels almost impossible

You’re drawn to creativity, but intimidated by not knowing what the “right” outcome should be.

You know that grounding doesn’t have to mean sitting still, but you haven’t found the right way to access calm through movement and creation.

Picture this…

Two hours from now, you’re holding a layered artwork that surprised and delighted you as you made it. Your hands are slightly paint-stained, your breathing has naturally slowed, and you have created something beautiful that invites you to reach out and feel its different textures.
This is what it means to create a tactile anchor you can return to whenever you need to remember what presence feels like.

What you’ll create..

Laying the foundation

Crayon resist techniques that peek through. Watercolor washes for a soft background.

Building Texture

Collaging with papers, fabric & found materials
Layering techniques that inform each other.
“Happy accidents” and creative opportunities.

Adding Finishing Touches

Add details through stitching and stencils.
Embellishments and covering up errors.
Introducing text and repeating motifs.

Meet your guide

I’m Nimisha—surgeon, mother, and mixed-media artist who discovered that adults need tactile grounding tools just as much as children do.

I created Layers of Nature after years of trying to meditate my way to presence while living a full, complex life. Sometimes we need to move our hands, not sit still, to find our way back to calm.

This workshop bridges my medical understanding of nervous system regulation with my love of process-based art – a creative practice that I have deliberately designed to be grounding – an anchor for you through your full and busy life.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’ll get instant access to the complete workshop video, supply list, and bonus materials. You can start creating right away or save it for a quiet afternoon when you need a reset.
A fun thing you can do is to read the supply list, and then conduct a texture treasure hunt around the house to collect any items or materials that you can use in your project.

Not at all. This workshop is based on the concept of process art — where the act of creating, and who you become along the way, matter more than the final piece.
It’s designed for beginners and for anyone who’s ever thought, “I’m not creative.” You’ll work with simple materials and your own intuition to rediscover the creative spark that’s part of being human. There’s no right way to do this—just your way.

You’ll use basic materials you already have—paper, glue, scissors, and textured items like tissue paper, cardboard, fabric scraps, or lace. The bonus guide includes easy household alternatives for every material. And you can always treat yourself to a texture treasure hunt around the house.

How does life-time access sound?

You can revisit the videos, guides, and bonuses anytime you want. I have created more than one piece using these techniques because it’s fun, relaxing, and each art-work sparks new ideas.

This isn’t just about techniques—it’s about the experience and the process of making a textured, layered mixed media art piece.

. You’ll learn how to respond to what happens on the page, how to trust your decisions, how to both reframe and repair ‘mistakes’ and how to make art that grounds you through touch. That can’t be taught in print.

This is a self-paced and fully guided workshop, that does not come with a specific community, or 1:1 support.

But if you do get stuck or have questions, just send me an email at nimisha@notjustmindfulness.com—I’m happy to help you troubleshoot or find creative workarounds.

I don’t currently offer one-on-one art sessions, but if you’re looking for deeper, ongoing support in mindfulness and creativity, you’ll love my 1:1 asynchronous mentorship program A Pocketful of Presence.

In this program I share a tailored-for-you mindfulness practice each week and you have 24/7 asynchronous access to accountability, trouble-shooting and guidance for that particular practice, it is also a space where you can bring questions and doubts about any of my courses that you are currently working through.
You can access a trial week HERE.
